Sports are an integral component of student life here at Woodford. In addition to their timetabled periods of PE students are afforded many sporting opportunities.
After-school activities take place each weekday. Past sporting activities have included: hockey, badminton, AFL, athletics, soccer, touch rugby, futsal and even beach volleyball!
Throughout the year students represent their houses in a variety of inter-house sporting competitions. The points for places all go towards awarding the champion house trophy and the end of the year. The inter-house sports events are football, volleyball, track and field athletics and cross-country.
At Woodford we value healthy lifestyles. We believe sports help build teamwork, sportsmanship, integrity, communication skills as well as foster greater community links. Students develop these skills when representing the school. This year WIS has fielded representative teams inter-school netball, hockey, AFL and futsal competitions.
