Dear Parents and Guardians,

There is always something going on at Woodford. Here are just some of the things that have been happening this week:

  • The Year 9- 11 students started their mock exams

  • Our teachers are working on reports

  • Year 5 went on an excursion to Mbonegi river

  • Interviews for the Head of School took place

  • Year 2 students are practising for their assembly

  • Our maintenance and PE staff are getting ready for tomorrow’s secondary athletics carnival

  • The School Board had a meeting

  • The science lab is getting fitted to comply with Cambridge standards for practical Science at AS and A Level…

 

...and the list goes on.

 

We have got two more weeks to go and there is no sign of students or staff slowing down!

 

Acting Head of School Notices

 

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: Introduction of Cambridge International Advanced Subsidiary (AS Level) and Advanced Level (A Level) in 2018  - Woodford International School will now be the only school in Honiara to offer schooling from Kindergarten through Year 12 (Form 7). This allows for all Woodford students to have a direct pathway to University after graduating.  Read more at:

PARENT, TEACHER, FRIENDS ASSOCIATION (PTFA) AGM

The WIS PTFA Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday, 19 June at 6:00 pm. Please save the date! Details were sent out last Friday.

 

Canteen

WIS is inviting proposals for the provision of canteen services. Deadline for submissions is 4:00 pm on 15 June 2017.

Friday, June 9, Secondary Athletics Carnival

The carnival will start at 10:20 am and finish at 3:00 pm. All students are expected to participate in most of the events. If your child has any medical condition or is unable to participate for any reason please inform the Athletics Department by email or a signed note from a parent or guardian. Detailed information has been sent home and you can also check on the school website:

ECAs

Term 2 ECAs will finish on Thursday, June 15. If your child hasn't paid the activity fee for Taekwondo or Keyboard, please make the necessary arrangements to clear the arrears by Monday, June 13.

Term 3 catalogues will be posted on the website by Monday, June 12, you will be able to view activity options for Term 3 before signing up.
